UPDATE ON THE ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM FOR THE PPUR TOUR
We regret to inform you that due to procedural requirements and technical adjustments, the implementation of the online booking system for the Puerto Princesa Underground River will be delayed and is not expected be operational until January 2013. Regular updates on its progress will be posted on a regular basis. We sincerely regret and apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused as we appeal to you to please bear with us.

TRAVEL ADVISORY
To conserve the Puerto Princesa Underground River in its natural state, a carrying capacity of Nine Hundred (900) Visitors a day has been set (PAMB Resolution No. 06-2012) and a “No Permit, No Entry” policy is strictly enforced. Bookings for the Tour can only be made at the Underground River Booking Office which is open daily from 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. Only individuals who apply in person and accredited travel and tour operators or their authorized representatives are qualified to apply and secure visitor entry permits.

Permits for the Underground River Tour are issued on a First Come, First Serve basis. All persons are advised to first secure a Visitor Entry Permit (VEP) before proceeding to the Park. Valid identification cards such as government issued id’s and passports must be presented when booking and during registration for the tour. Book early for the tour and have a fun a worry free visit.

CANCELLATIONS
Tours for the Underground River can be suspended and Visitor Entry Permits cancelled any day due to unfavourable meteorological conditions. In such case, the affected visitor may opt to rebook for the tour on a later date or seek a refund of amount paid for the VEP. Management shall waive all rebooking fees or refund surcharges.

To rebook for a later date, the cancelled VEP’s and corresponding official receipt must be submitted for rebooking at the Underground River Booking Office. Affected visitors are given the priority for booking on the earliest available date.

WARNING AGAINST SCAMS USING TEXT MESSAGES

The Public is hereby warned against text messages sent to cellular phone users containing a notice allegedly from the Puerto Princesa Underground River for winning cash prizes from Electronic Raffle Draw. The Park Management formally denies any knowledge, involvement or connections to any promotional activity or any person to conduct the any similar promotional activities granting cash prizes. We encourage the public to be vigilant and not to entertain such schemes made by persons who falsely claim to represent the Park.  The Park Management shall not be responsible or liable to any loss incurred to any person as a result of transaction.

Notice is hereby given to the public not to be mislead by pronouncements posted in the internet and other medium that going directly to the Park or staying overnight in Sabang is a guarantee for the issuance of a Visitor Entry Permit to the Underground River Tour. It is highly recommended to first secure a Visitor Entry Permit at the Underground River Booking Office before proceeding to the Park. Management shall not be responsible for any inconvenience to visitor as a result of failure to comply with any of the above requirements.

How to Join & who are eligible to join:

1. For a texter to qualify, he/she must:

a.  be a subscriber of Smart or Talk N Text whether in post paid or pre- paid plans;

b.   have sent his/her entry/vote within October 1, 2010 – December 30, 2011

How do you earn entries

1.       For every unique trivia the subscriber receives when he votes from October 1, 2010 to November 10, 2011  in the Puerto Princesa Underground River (Pera Sa Kweba) Text Promo service, he will be entitled to two (2) raffle entries or;

Determination of Winning Text Entries:

1.       Winners must be a subscriber of Smart or Talk N Text whether in Postpaid or Prepaid plans.

2.       Postpaid subscribers that are charged/billed properly.

3.       Pre-paid subscribers that are properly decremented

4.       The 105 winners will be chosen from the qualified entries/votes received from October 1, 2010 to December 30, 2011.

5.       Entries earned within the promo period will be drawn on the following dates:

6.       “Draw Representatives” consisting of duly authorized representatives from Wireless Services Asia with the presence of a PPUR Task Force representative will supervise the drawing of winners. Decisions by the Draw Representatives are final.

Validation Process:

1.  Winners from Smart and Talk N Text will be notified through a call via SMART’s access number 7777.

2. The Grand Draw winners will also be announced on TV5’s show “Will Time Big Time” on January 6, 2012 and via the Puerto Princesa Underground River website (for all the winners).

3.Winners’ names will also be posted in national dailies and some will announced on the TV5 “Wil Time Big Time” show during the duration of the promo.

4.  Smart reserves the right to conduct further validation and verification before awarding the prize to the winner.

Redemption of Prizes:

1.  The winner must present the following when claiming their prize:

a.    A valid ID with picture and address;

b.   The SIM card where the entry was made;

c.   Additional Requirements:

i. If the name of the subscriber indicated in the Smart billing system as being the postpaid subscriber is different from the name of the sender of the winning entry of the Promo, the sender of the winning entry of the Promo will be qualified to receive the prize if he submits an affidavit from the postpaid subscriber certifying that the postpaid subscriber has authorized the winner to use his postpaid SIM card to join the Promo and that he waives his right to the prize in favor of the winner.

ii. If the drawn postpaid SIM card number corresponds to a subscription of a company, then the sender of the winning entry of the Promo will be qualified to receive the prize if he submits an affidavit from the duly authorized representative of the company owning the postpaid SIM card certifying that the company has authorized the sender of the winning entry to join the Promo and that the company is waiving its right to claim the prize won.

iii. If the sender of the winning entry is a minor, then he must be accompanied by his parent/legal guardian when he claims his prize.  The subscriber’s parent/legal guardian must then present his valid identification and proof that he is the parent/legal guardian of the subscriber.

IMPORTANT: Failure to submit any of the required proof and documentation is a ground for disqualification

2. For prepaid subscribers, account should have been properly decremented for all transactions. Smart shall consider the holder of a prepaid SIM card as the owner of the Smart/Talk N Text prepaid SIM card.

3.  For post-paid subscribers, account should have no outstanding balances on the date of redemption.

4.  Qualified winners must claim their prizes within sixty (60) days from receipt of notification. Failure to claim within the allotted time/duration forfeits the winner’s right over the prize with prior PPUR Task Force approval.

5. The prize may be claimed at the Wireless Services Asia office in 3F Unit 301 ITC Building, 337 Sen. Gil Puyat Ave., Makati. For provincial winners, Wireless Services Asia shall ship the prize to his/her address.

When users wish to download a PPUR trivia and send their text votes (until November 10, 2011), they will have to text PPUR to 2861. They will be charged P2.50 and will receive a confirmation reply for every successful download. For every unique trivia users receive from October 1, 2010 to November 10, 2011, they will earn two (2) raffle entries. Every unique trivia downloaded from November 11, 2011 to December 28, 2011 entitles users to one (1) raffle entry.

Subscription (Opt In)
Users may subscribe to receive daily trivia and send one vote daily (until November 10, 2011). Subscriber may send ON PPUR (for Globe) or PPUR ON (for Smart and Sun) to 2861 to get trivia about PPUR and earn two (2) raffle entries (from October 1, 2010 to November 10, 2011) or one (1) raffle entry (from November 11, 2011 to December 28, 2011). Zurich/Switzerland, June 24, 2010—The Philippines’ Puerto Princesa Underground River and Indonesia’s Komodo National Park are getting a boost from each other and from their neighbors. A vehement statement of support for the two Southeast Asian New7Wonders of Nature Official Finalists was issued during a meeting on efforts to promote the East ASEAN Growth Area, which includes Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia and the Philippines, as a key tourism destination in Southeast Asia.

New7Wonders bids in line with regional tourism strategy
Leaders of the region underlined that “direct and indirect benefits shall be achieved by the member countries with the Puerto Princesa Underground River and the Komodo National Park, as inclusions to the New7Wonders of Nature, come 2011.”

The joint support also shows the increasingly strong partnership within the region for the development of tourism.

The East ASEAN Growth Area tourism industry is pursuing a Community-Based Eco Tourism development strategy to intensify partnerships among the local governments and communities, as a means for addressing rural poverty. The awareness and brand value generated for Komodo and the Puerto Princesa Underground River in the global New7Wonders of Nature campaign will result in increased nature-focused tourism—hence meshing perfectly with the Eco-Tourism strategy.
