Explore the Mystic Underground River - Park operated boats take visitors for a 1 hour tour inside the cave to marvel at one of the seven underground wonders of the world. Notable are the interesting rock formations, and the thousand of bats and swiftlets including the one that produces the edible birds nest.

Adventure Caving - the park boast a number of cave systems that have interesting geological features. Climbing the Ugong Rock view deck allows one to marvel at the spectacular karst mountain formations and the natural beauty of the areas surrounding the Park. Other sites to explore include Lion cave, Daylight hole and the Kawili Cave.

Wildlife Watching - another popular activity within the park is the bird watching. One must start early and preferably equipped with binoculars to see the brightly colored birds of the park. Commonly seen are parrots, hornbills, megapodes, pitas, leaf birds and herons. Other wildlife seen are the monitor lizards, macaques, squirrels.

White Sand Beaches - The shorelines comprises some of the islands most beautiful beaches that are bordered by rocky headlands. The cool and crystal clear waters make it ideal for swimming, snorkeling and enjoying the sun. Most popular are the Sabang beach, Panaguman beach and Marta Fe beach.

Monkey and Jungle Trails - for outdoor lovers, an alternative 5km long trail that leads to the cave is recommended only for the physically fit. The trail is designed in such a way that it allows visitors to trek through the different forest formations before descending down the mouth of the underground river, is a truly rewarding experience of an athletic jungle adventure.

Mangrove Paddleboat Tour - Tour the Sabang River on board paddle to see mangrove forest to appreciate what an ecosystem free of human intervention looks like. This project is managed and operated by local community residents. Visitors are also given a chance to contribute to conservation by planting mangrove saplings in designated areas.

Visitor Center - for display, exhibit and presentation of the cultural and natural history of the Park. Learn more about the culture of indigenous people in the area by visiting the ethnographic museum that is located in the center.

VISITOR ENTRY

  1. PARK ENTRY - All persons are required to secure an entrance permit from the Park's Booking Office before entering the Park.  Permit forms should be accomplished clearly in writing indicating the name of visitor, place of visit, purpose of visit, and date of visit.

  2. PERMITS - Permits shall be issued only upon the payment of entrance fees.  Management strictly enforce a "no permit, no entry" policy.

  3. RESERVATIONS - No reservations shall be finalized unless registration fees are fully paid.  Reservations made should be paid for at least 24 hours before scheduled visit or shall be cancelled and not be honored by the Management.

  4. NON-TRANSFERABLE - Permits are non-transferable and may be only used by the person whose name appears on the permit;

  5. REFUNDS - Permits not used on the date indicated may be used after being revalidated/renewed at the Park Office.  Permits may be also refunded only upon payment of a 10% surcharge of the total amount paid.

  6. VISITOR ACCESS - Visitor shall have access only to areas indicated in the permit.  Proper arrangements should be secured from Park authorities for visitors to additional places not indicated in permit.

  7. GROUP TOURS - Groups of more than forty people are required to secure an entry permit at least three (3) days before the planned visit.  Failure to comply with this requirement may result to the non-issuance of permits due to the Park being booked to its full capacity.

  8. SUBJECT TO SEARCH - The Park reserves the right to search the visitor and his luggage's for any prohibited materials or item.

  9. LIABILITY - The Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park will not be liable for any loss or damage to property or personal belongings of visitors, nor to the injury or death due to accidents that may be fall to visitors during the duration of their stay in the Park.

  10. RECOGNITION - Proper acknowledgement shall be accorded to the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park by any producer of film or video documentary conducted inside the Park.


ACCOMODATIONS

The Park does not operate any overnight facilities but a number of locally owned and managed resorts in the surrounding areas that offer basic accommodations and food at very reasonable prices. They cater both local and international cuisine


BEST TIME TO VISIT

The Park is open to the public the whole year round; however the best time to visit is from January to June when the weather is drier making it easier to get around.


How to Get There

Puerto Princesa City is accessible by air with at least three airlines having daily flights from Manila and trice weekly from Cebu City. It is also accessible by sea with voyages scheduled twice weekly from Manila and once a week from Ilo-ilo.
